Santandreu, The cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic is a red-enameled cross, with a golden frame. The outer peaks are fitted with small gold balls. The center of the medallion contains the inscription "A La Lealtad Acrisolada" (To Proven Loyalty) on white enamel. Above the cross is a green enameled laurel wreath with the band ring., Photograph of Monsignor Antonio M. Santandreu, wearing a surplice with lace borders beneath sleeveless gown upon which is attached the cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, conferred upon him by the former King Alonso. In Los Angeles to participate in the services held in honor of Bishop Claret, the first Roman Catholic Bishop of North America to be beautified by the Pope, Monsignor Antonio M. Santandreu gave the sermon for the evening vespers service at the Plaza Church (Nuestra Señora de los Angeles). In his youth in Spain, Monsignor Antonio M. Santandreu had been acquainted with Anthony Mary Claret.
